🍎 A Lifelong Educator

I am an educator with a diverse teaching background spanning high school, adult education, undergraduate support, and graduate-level instruction. My journey in education has given me a deep understanding of the unique challenges, aspirations, and needs of learners at every stage of life.

In India, I taught high school students, where I developed a strong appreciation for the academic, social, and emotional needs of young learners. In Canada, I worked with adult learners, including injured workers through WSIB-supported educational programs, helping them rebuild confidence, develop new skills, and pursue new opportunities. As a Teaching Assistant during my graduate studies at Western University, I supported undergraduate students and gained valuable experience in post-secondary teaching and mentorship.

I currently teach graduate students in the School of Biomedical Engineering at Western University, focusing on interdisciplinary problem-solving, scientific communication, and research development while mentoring them in their academic and research journeys.

My experiences across different educational settings have reinforced my belief that every student deserves respect, encouragement, and the opportunity to reach their full potential. I am committed to fostering inclusive, equitable, and supportive learning environments where all learners can thrive.

🔬 Scientific Research & Innovation

My research spans biomedical engineering, renewable energy, advanced materials, and semiconductor technologies. Collaborating with Western University, Mitacs, and Sciencetech Inc., I developed short-wave infrared (SWIR) imaging technologies and advanced semiconductor prototypes. At the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), I advanced electrospun materials and contributed to fuel cell technologies and scalable manufacturing. My multidisciplinary background showcases my passion for innovation and applying science to real-world challenges.

🏆 Awards & Academic Recognition

I have been recognized for my dedication to excellence in research and education through highly competitive awards and research funding, including the Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS), Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC funding), and the Schulich Graduate Scholarship. These achievements reflect my commitment to innovation, lifelong learning, and academic excellence.

🤝 Community Leadership & Governance

I have a strong commitment to community engagement and student advocacy. At Western University, I served as the Social Representative on the Biomedical Engineering Student Council, enhancing student involvement and fostering a supportive community. Additionally, as Secretary of HCC London for three years, I managed communications, coordinated events, and ensured effective governance. These experiences have honed my collaboration, communication, accountability, and community service skills, which are vital for serving students and families.

🌱 Commitment to Students and Families

I have experience teaching teenagers, adults, and graduate students. This gives me a deep understanding of education at every stage of life. As an educator, researcher, and community leader, I have a unique view on how important student success is. I believe in creating inclusive learning environments and building strong partnerships between schools, families, and the community. I am dedicated to making sure every student feels supported, every family feels heard, and every school has the resources and teamwork needed to help learners succeed.

Let's Connect!

Our communities deserve a strong, accountable, and dedicated voice at the board table. I am committed to bringing my experience in education, leadership, research, and strategic decision-making to advocate for students, families, and educators across Wards 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6.

I believe that meaningful change begins with listening. Your ideas, concerns, and aspirations for our schools matter to me, and I welcome the opportunity to hear from you and discuss the future of public education in our community.

Please feel free to reach out to me directly with your ideas, suggestions, or concerns. I believe in open communication and value the voices of students, parents, educators, and community members.
